Welsh born artist Hanneke van Ryswyk grew up in the Netherlands and returned to Wales in 1998. She graduated from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Swansea in 2006.
After graduating, van Ryswyk worked in textiles and ecological fashion. In 2011 she returned to her visual art practice and moved to Ireland. Her ongoing body of work in drawing, painting and printmaking focuses on glacial melting and the impact it is having across the globe.
Hanneke has held four Irish solo exhibitions since moving to Ireland. In 2014 she was awarded a Visual Arts Bursary by Artlinks. In 2013, Hanneke was awarded a residency at Kultivera, Tranås, Sweden. She has been awarded residencies at Cill Rialaig artist's retreat, County Kerry in 2013 and 2012. Recent group exhibitions include VUE National Contemporary Art Fair at the RHA, Dublin with the Olivier Cornet Gallery [2014, 2012], AC3, The Timekeeper Olivier Cornet Gallery, Filmbase, Dublin  Furniture curated by Will O’Kane, Wexford Opera Festival  and painting + drawing  curated by Anya von Gosseln, Newtownbarry House, Wexford.
