Joanna Kidney was born in Dublin and currently lives in Co. Wicklow. Her work is process oriented encompassing drawing, spatial drawing and encaustic painting. An intuitive engagement with materials is central to the making of the work.

Kerry, the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Co. Monaghan and Heinrich Boll, Co. Mayo. She is a member of the artists collective The Tellurometer Project. Her work is included in the collections of AIB, The Central Bank, Dublin, OPW, UCD and the Department of the Environment, Northern Ireland.
